I work in an environment where everyone just lies and flatters the boss to keep their jobs. When I actually spoke the hard truth, they completely isolated me and made me the enemy. I read 1 Kings 22 and felt so incredibly validated. King Ahab surrounds himself with 400 fake prophets. They all tell him he is going to win his next battle. It’s a massive echo chamber. Then they bring in one real prophet, Micaiah. The officials warn him, "Everyone else is agreeing with the king, you better do the same." Micaiah refuses. He stands before the king and the 400 liars, and boldly prophesies that Ahab will die in battle. They slap Micaiah in the face and throw him in prison on bread and water. But he was right. Ahab died.
